Jordan Pickford leaving Everton to join Tottenham should be straightforward if club relegated – Sami Mokbel
Relegation should make Jordan Pickford’s exit from Everton “relatively straightforward” in the summer, with Tottenham ready to make a move, say the Daily Mail.
The Toffees are in the relegation zone at the halfway point of the Premier League season having managed just three wins all season, with manager Frank Lampard under severe pressure for his job.
That has left Premier League clubs eyeing up members of their squad ahead of potential relegation at the end of the season, and according to reliable journalist Sami Mokbel Tottenham are keen to add Pickford to their squad in a deal that should be easy to do.

“Pickford has all the attributes Tottenham are looking for; indeed, if Everton are relegated that deal should be relatively straightforward to complete – though when Daniel Levy is involved it’s hard to second guess,” he wrote (16 January).
Nightmare
Pickford potentially leaving Goodison Park would be an absolute nightmare no matter what, but if Everton were to be relegated it would hardly be a shock.
Currently no new deal has been agreed or signed between Everton and Pickford, and as it stands he would be entering the final year of his contract in the summer.
If we were to be relegated, it would be the perfect opportunity for him to leave for Champions League football and bring some money into the club for his exit.

But replacing him would be absolutely horrible to do and with the likelihood being that several other of our better players would be loving, mixed in with our already well known financial troubles, coming straight back up would be crazily difficult.
The best option would be to avoid that at all costs, get him tied down to a new deal and keep him around until the day he retires or is no longer good enough. But there’s a long road to get there first.
