Everton in contact to sign Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic after Duvan Zapata loan bid rejected
Everton are reportedly in contact with Bologna striker Marko Arnautoivc as Frank Lampard is eyeing reinforcements in January.
According to Calciomercato journalist Marco Conterio, Atalanta have rejected the loan bid for striker Duvan Zapata.
It’s also being claimed that Udinese have said no to a Beto sale which means that the Toffees are now being linked with Arnautovic.
Via Twitter, Conterio wrote, “Everton look for a 9 for Frank Lampard. Contacts in progress for Marko Arnautovic of #Bologna. Atalanta has rejected the loan offer for Duvan Zapata and Udinese has said no to the offer for Beto. So #EFC is trying to catch Arnautovic.”
Not needed
The Toffees need to have a coherent transfer strategy and cannot think that a player like Arnautovic is the one to address their attacking woes.
He may have loads of Premier League experience and also scored 43 goals in the competition, but he’s currently 33 and is unlikely to get any better.
There are also no guarantees that he’ll hit the ground running at Goodison Park and in terms of style is very similar to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

What the Toffees need is a player like Arnaut Danjuma who can play all across the front three and be a real force in the final third.
He can pop up in central areas too and wreak havoc – something which the Toffees need more of, especially after Anthony Gordon’s quiet season.
Danjuma’s agent has also sent a come-and-get-me plea in some ways to Everton and all interested parties and that’s a move that they must consider.
