Everton offered chance to sign Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser in January
Everton have been offered the chance to sign Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser in the January transfer window, according to i journalist Mark Douglas.
The Toffees are desperate to sign a new forward or two during the January window, but have so far been rebuffed in their attempts to sign Danny Ings and Anthony Elanga.
But with the whole league knowing that Frank Lampard is desperate to add to his squad, agents have been making their move to offer players to Goodison Park and that includes Scotland international Fraser.

“Lampard, understandably, wants players ready to hit the ground running, which is why a link to Michail Antonio of West Ham makes sense and the appeal of Newcastle’s Ryan Fraser – who is available at St James’ Park and has been offered – may yet grow,” they wrote (16 January).
Avoid
Everton need options in attack, but we need options who are better than what we currently have to offer and Fraser isn’t that.
He has got great experience, and the Premier League website has got him down as having 49 goal contributions in 173 appearances, which isn’t awful.

But his skillset as a winger isn’t better than what Anthony Gordon, Dwight McNeil and Demarai Gray offer and it would just further prove that Frank Lampard isn’t getting enough from those players.
Having another body in just for the sake of it isn’t going to help us get out of the situation we’re currently in, and with relegation a real, genuine threat, we can’t roll the dice that way.
Everyone at the club needs to improve, including the manager and current options in attack, but signing just anyone won’t make that happen and we don’t have money to waste of players who won’t help the situation.
This is a deal that is more than avoidable, and it should stay that way.
