Everton ready approach for Duvan Zapata transfer on Tuesday – Fabrizio Romano

Everton are prepared to approach Atalanta to negotiate for Colombian striker Duván Zapata, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Frank Lampard is in desperate need of some forward reinforcements and the South American could be the man to solve the Blues’ striking woes.

Romano confessed that Intermediaries will work on the deal with Everton open to loan with an option clause proposal and that Atalanta are only open to a permanent transfer, as things stand.

“Everton are prepared to approach Atalanta to negotiate for Colombian striker Duván Zapata. Intermediaries will work on the deal with Everton open to loan with option clause proposal,” revealed Romano on his personal Twitter account. (17 January, 9.28am).

“Atalanta would only be open to discuss a permanent transfer for Zapata, as things stand.”

Everton

Finally.

It finally looks like Everton are going to make some moves in the January transfer window and there are far worse options on the market than Zapata.

He’s become renowned for being a fearsome poacher in Serie A and certainly has a knack for scoring multiple goals in the Italian top flight.

One thing that is slightly concerning is his current injury record, a niggling hamstring injury has kept him out for a large part of this campaign already for Atalanta.

But if the Blues are pursuing a deal this is something that has likely been analysed and viewed as not a great area of concern for making a move.

Lampard and Everton desperately need some answers and Zapata may be the man to change the fortunes of the Toffees’ doomed campaign.

With luck, a deal for the forward can be finalised this week before the club becomes even more embroiled in a relegation battle.
