Arnaut Danjuma boards flight as Everton in the hunt to sign Villarreal forward in January

Arnaut Danjuma has posted a message on Twitter with an image of him with his agent as he is set to fly to the United Kingdom, with Everton reportedly keen.

Sky Sports (transfer live blog, 17 January, 01:46pm) reports that Everton, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are the three clubs looking to battle to for the signature of Danjuma this month.

Villarreal have granted him permission to speak to other clubs, and he will soon make a decision on his future. He is expected to return to England on Wednesday (18 January), and it seems he has taken the flight to move to the United Kingdom.

He posted on Twitter an image of himself and his agent Michael-Moses Jarman, seemingly in transit on 17 January, saying:: “Birds of a feather flock together.”

Can the Toffees get him?

The Toffees should be looking to get his signature, as he is available on loan.

Everton are operating on a tight budget and they cannot compete with other big spenders in the market.

Therefore, they must present him with a lucrative loan deal and lure him to join Goodison Park this month.

The Toffees are struggling in the relegation zone at the moment, and Danjuma could be apprehensive about joining here. At the same time, he could play a huge role which could earn him a permanent move in the summer as well.

Danjuma impressed heavily for the Yellow Submarines in 2021-22, where he scored 10 goals in La Liga. However, this season, he has struggled to repeat a similar feat and has dropped down the pecking order at the club.

Having previously played in the Premier League, he probably won’t take much time in adjusting to the pace of the league. He would be a fantastic signing for the Toffees and let’s see if they can pull off the deal.
