Conor Gallagher stance on Chelsea exit shared amid Everton January transfer interest
Everton are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in January, but the player has no desire to leave while he is in Graham Potter’s plans.
The England international shone while on loan at Crystal Palace last season and attracted summer interest from several Premier League clubs including the Toffees.
That interest was renewed during the season with Gallagher struggling for minutes, but in recent games he has found himself being picked by the manager at Stamford Bridge and according to the Daily Mail he has “no desire” to leave while that is the case.

“Therefore, the likes of Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Everton, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United have registered an interest in signing him,” they wrote (18 January).
“However, Gallagher has no desire to leave Chelsea while he is still being selected to represent the first-team.”
No problem
Everton’s biggest problem right now is a lack of goals in their attack, and while Gallagher had a good run while at Palace he’s not a goalscoring midfielder.
If he were to sign it would likely be a temporary deal, which just papers over the cracks at the club, and whether he’d even start over our current midfield options is questionable.

Amadou Onana and Alex Iwobi have been among the best performers in the side this season, and Gallagher is far too attack-minded to replace Idrissa Gueye in the team.
Everton should always be looking to bring in quality additions and Gallagher has been described as “excellent” in the past, but the priorities have to be right and a striker is what is needed above all else in this window.
With two weeks left the club need to get moving and bring players in to help this battle against relegation, so Gallagher not being interested or on the market certainly should help the board focus on their task at hand.
