Everton handed Andros Townsend injury boost with him spotted in training ahead of West Ham United clash

Everton attacker Andros Townsend has returned to training on the pitch as the club shared his images on their social media ahead of their game against West Ham this weekend.

The England international has not featured for the Toffees since last season with injuries keeping him out of action.

Frank Lampard’s recent comments even allayed fears that he may have played his last game for the club as he suffered another setback.

Via their official Twitter handle, Everton wrote, “James Garner and Andros Townsend are back on the pitch doing individual work.

Back for good?

Townsend has had an extremely torrid time with injuries so we’re delighted to see him back in action, albeit if it’s just by himself.

He needs to get a feel of the pitch and undergo individual drills to get his sharpness and fitness back and he still will take some time before he’s back.

Everton

We hope that he does not suffer any major setbacks after this as it’s been difficult for him but he’s always one who’s stayed in good spirits.

We’re sure that Frank Lampard and the rest of the Everton players would’ve been delighted to see him back on the training pitch.

He still has a contract at Goodison Park and Lampard will surely call on him at some point in the coming weeks.

There’s a chance that he does continue to play for Everton beyond this season but that’ll solely depend on who’s in charge and how he performs once he makes his first-team return.
