Fabrizio Romano shares Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga situation as Everton want to sign him on loan
Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga is waiting for his club to make a decision on his future amid interest from Everton.
According to Fabrizio Romano, with Borussia Dortmund also keen on signing him, the Sweden international does fancy moving to Germany in the January transfer window.
However, no decision has been made on his future this far with the Old Trafford outfit considering what his next move will be.
Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Anthony Elanga’s priority would be to join Borussia Dortmund, as reported two days ago — it’s up to Manchester United on this one. Pellistri and Elanga, waiting for club’s decisions.
“Everton are also interested. Decision up to Man United.”
Move along
Firstly, we’re not convinced that Elanga is the answer to solve the Toffees’ attacking woes and his performances for Manchester United have been erratic at best.
He’s struggled whenever he’s given a run of games to prove his worth and it’s clear that manager Erik ten Hag is not really a big fan.
He has been described as “outstanding” in the past by the Manchester Evening News (21 Jan 2022), but things are quite different a year on.

Sending him out on loan would be a good opportunity for them to gauge and see just how good he is when he plays week in and week out.
However, we believe that Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray are better shouts to start regularly and Dwight McNeil too could eventually come good.
What Everton need is a proven goal scorer who will help Dominic Calvert-Lewin shoulder his attacking load and let him focus on getting involved in the play as well.
It’s understood that they’re working on multiple fronts to bring in more firepower so that can only be a good thing for them.
