Jamie O’Hara wants Sean Dyche as next Everton manager as he predicts ‘unbelievable’ turn of events
Jamie O’Hara has suggested Sean Dyche would give Everton an “unbelievable” chance of staying in the Premier League if he replaced Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
The Daily Mail (4 January) claimed the former Burnley man is the favourite to replace Lampard should the 44-year-old be relieved of his duties.
O’Hara believes the 51-year-old is a no-brainer for Everton in their current situation.
“Sean Dyche. Of course, you bring in Dyche. He gives Everton an unbelievable chance of staying in the Premier League,” said the former Tottenham midfielder (talkSPORT, 3m 06s, 21 January).
“All Everton need to do is stay up.”
Obvious
O’Hara is known for being a decisive figure but he is bang-on with his suggestion on Dyche. Premier League survival is the sole objective at the moment and the former Burnley man would be the perfect candidate to drag the Toffees away from their current demise.
The issues with the board and the playing staff will have to be rectified in the summer. Lampard will be the man who faces the consequences of the Toffees’ poor form and Dyche looks like the obvious candidate to give them the best chance of avoiding relegation.

He knows how to survive in the Premier League and Everton have actually shown signs of life when playing in a more conservative formation. The draw against Manchester City demonstrated how this team is capable of picking up points and it’s something which has to be adopted in the second half of the campaign.
There are nine days left in the transfer window and it’s now up to the board to do as much as they can to strengthen regardless of whether Lampard is in charge.
