Everton players expect Frank Lampard to be sacked today – TalkSPORT

Everton players are expecting Frank Lampard to be sacked today, however, the club have no replacement for him lined up, according to TalkSPORT.

The former Chelsea and Derby boss has had a woeful string of results and it seems the loss to West Ham United was the final nail in his coffin.

With TalkSPORT reporting that no replacement has been lined up, the Toffees will be walking a relegation tightrope if they do choose to sack Lampard.

“It’s believed the Everton hierarchy do not have a replacement in place.”

Everton

Dangerous game.

The Everton board are playing a dangerous game here, if they choose to relieve Lampard of his duties, which seems likely, it’s bizarre that they have no one lined up to replace him.

With tricky games against Arsenal and Liverpool coming up, it would have been nice to have a new manager at the helm for one of these two fixtures.

To be honest, it can’t get much worse than it already is for the Blues, but having a backup plan is a necessity with the current position the club are in.

A caretaker manager simply isn’t the answer when you are in a relegation battle and the club need to get a move on and find Lampard’s successor.

A clean and fresh slate is needed at the club if they want to avoid relegation to the Championship next season and the job is no easy task for whoever takes it.

It’s going to be an interesting few days to be an Evertonian.
