Everton transfer news as Al-Nassr bid for Asmir Begovic rejected – Sky Sports journo

Everton have rejected an initial bid for goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, according to Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam.

Begovic is out of contract at Everton this summer and has only made three appearances for Frank Lampard’s side during the current campaign.

McAdam confessed that Al-Nassr are likely to return to the transfer table and make a second offer for Begovic in the coming days.

“Everton have rejected an offer from Al-Nassr for Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic,” said McAdam on Twitter. (23 January, 8:43 AM)

“Begovic is out of contact in the summer and has only made 3 appearances this season. It’s expected Al-Nassr will return with a second offer in the coming days.”

Changes needed.

The club are likely holding off on any Begovic deal whilst they sort out what they are going to do with Everton manager Lampard moving forward.

It’s more than likely that the former Derby and Chelsea boss will be sacked in the coming days after a woeful run of form that has left the Toffees in tatters.

Massive changes are needed from the top to the bottom of the club and this should start with Lampard, unfortunately, losing his job.

Every Evertonian wanted this to work for Lampard and he’s been given any chance to succeed in the Goodison hot seat but results haven’t gone his way.

With relegation looming, a new manager with fresh tactics and ideas will be needed to drag Everton out of the precarious position they currently sit in.

It’s a scary time to be a Blue and whilst a new manager bounce might just be the remedy to save the club from relegation, the problems at the club lie deeper than just Lampard.
