Frank Lampard sack update as Jim White shares Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright updates at Everton

The Everton board have yet to make a decision on sacking Frank Lampard with the board’s “loyalty” to him making a decision difficult, according to Jim White.

The Toffees are second from bottom in the Premier League table after a 2-0 defeat to West Ham at the weekend, meaning Lampard has earned just 35 points from 38 Premier League games in charge over the last 12 months.

There has been speculation that Lampard could be sacked as soon as today (23 January), but according to Jim White on talkSPORT (23 Jan, 10:09am) the board are yet to make that call.

“It is my understanding Simon, that the talking started,” he said. “It wasn’t just going on yesterday. It started post-match with Moshiri heading out of the London Stadium in one vehicle and Bill [Kenwright] in another.

“They all went their separate ways and they were talking then.

“It’s my understanding that because of this respect and feeling of loyalty that they have towards Lampard, it’s making the decision a lot more tricky. That’s what I’m hearing.”

Get him out

It’s time for Lampard to go and nothing he does is going to change that now. No amount of first-team signings in the final week of the window will save him.

He’s had a year to change things around or at the very least put something in place to show progress and some sort of plan, yet all we’ve done is go backwards.

There’s no doubting that he hasn’t been helped by the board and the current situations at the club, but he has not performed to anywhere near a high enough level.

There is talk of Arnaut Danjuma joining the club, but that isn’t enough to save us with the way that he looks to play and sets the team up and we’re on our way down as it stands.

Everton need to react and get this sorted as quickly as possible, because dragging it out now just makes things even worse.
