Everton: Newcastle United could go all in to sign Anthony Gordon in transfer news
Newcastle United could go “all in” on Everton youngster Anthony Gordon even if his price tag is raised above £35million, according to former Foot365 journalist Ignazio Geunardi.
Gordon’s future has been thrown up in the air after the departure of Frank Lampard and the starlet could soon be following the sacked manager out of the door.
Geunardi confessed that even though Newcastle have Allan Saint-Maximin as a starter they could still look to push on in a deal for Gordon.
“While Saint-Maximin appears as a potential starter, Newcastle decided to try his luck on Gordon (Everton),” said Genuardi on Twitter. (24 January, 12:11 PM)
“The Magpies could go all-in, even if the bar is set above €40m.”
Good deal.
Letting Gordon leave would allow the Toffees some funds to reinvest into the squad, something that is drastically needed at the moment.
It would also give whatever new manager who comes into the fold, the chance to potentially sign some talents of his own liking.
The Toffees have already agreed on a deal with Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma and this could be a warning sign that Gordon will be allowed to leave.
And £35million-plus for a youngster who has only had one good Premier League season under his belt seems like too good of a deal to turn down.
In all honesty, Gordon’s head was already turned long ago and he hasn’t turned up for the Blues this season, it’s time he was moved on from Merseyside.
If the club were to be relegated at the end of this season, they would lose Gordon for a much cheaper sum and it would be wise to cash in on him whilst they still can.
