Finance Expert: Alisher Usmanov reports are last thing Everton need right now
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Alisher Usmanov links resurfacing at Everton will only add to a “very intense” relationship between the fans and the board.
The Guardian reported on January 15 that questions have started to mount after some managers shared that they were left with the impression the Russian owned the club after talks.
That has led to further questions on Premier League governance, although Plumley insists it’s just another story the club doesn’t need as it adds to the “mire”.
“It adds to a situation that is already very heated and very intense with the relationship between the fans and the board and the on-pitch performance at the minute,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“With what’s happening in and around the club at the minute, this is just another story that the club don’t need or want. Again, from a fan point of view, you can see why it adds to the pots of an increasing set of issues because they’ve got absolutely no idea what’s going on at their club and that’s not right.

“Another thing that just adds to the mire that the club seems to find themselves in.”
Farhad Moshiri is at the centre of all of this yet again.
Despite cutting all ties with Usmanov after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine saw repercussions for the oligarch, but yet it looks as though not everything was revealed.
With more revelations coming to light already, things are only going to get worst at Goodison Park with the relationship between fans and the board already at a melting point.
Things need to change very quickly at Everton.
