Former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl stance emerges on Everton manager vacancy

Former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is reportedly going to pass up on the opportunity to take over the reins at Everton.

According to the Daily Star (25/01, page 48), he emerged as a backup option to former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa who has reservations about the job.

However, the Austrian, who was sacked by the Saints earlier this season, does not fancy a return to the Premier League if it is to succeed Frank Lampard.

Another rejection

It seems like the Everton job is one that nobody wants, even if they’re out of work.

Former Leeds manager Bielsa is also understood to have turned down the opportunity to move to Goodison Park and even called out the squad for their lack of pace.

If he would’ve joined, he would’ve wanted certain assurances in the transfer market which the Toffees are in no position to provide.

It’s baffling how badly run this club is and what’s even more surprising is that Bielsa and Sam Allardyce are both being considered at the same time.

Their styles of football and managerial approaches are nothing alike and having them both being looked at really shows a lack of coherent planning behind the scenes.

Ideally, Moshiri should step back from the decision-making process and let Kevin Thelwell call the shots as that’s what he is at Everton to do.

We cannot wait to see who ends up becoming the next Everton boss, but given how their calls have been all over the place, we do not expect them to get this one right either.
