Fabrizio Romano: Anthony Gordon agrees personal terms with Newcastle United for Everton exit

Fabrizio Romano has shared that Anthony Gordon has now agreed on personal terms with Newcastle United over a potential transfer from Everton.

The transfer guru reports that Newcastle officially proposed a deal days ago, however, negotiations between the two clubs have been slow.

Romano confessed that Everton will make a decision on Gordon’s future soon, one which will likely tie in with whoever their new manager is.

“Anthony Gordon missed also today’s training session. English winger wants Newcastle move after personal terms agreed and official proposal submitted days ago,” said Romano on Twitter. (26 January, 3:11 PM)

“Negotiations between clubs have been slow — Everton expected to make a decision soon.”

Pack Gordon’s bags.

Everton should pack Gordon’s bags to Newcastle right away, the player has shown a terrible commitment to the cause in recent days and needs to leave Goodison Park.

Not turning up to training in the midst of a relegation battle is a far cry from being professional and if the bid from Newcastle is sufficient then his exit is needed.

Unfortunately, this is a deal that should have taken place in the summer and the club are looking rather foolish for not entertaining the bid from Chelsea back then.

Ever since that proposed deal from Chelsea, the winger hasn’t been the same in a Blue shirt and it’s fair to say his head has been well and truly turned.

It’s never nice seeing a prospect from the academy leave the club but in this case, it seems like the correct move for all parties involved.

Securing a cash influx for Gordon will only help the squad in deals for new talents to arrive on Merseyside this month, signings that can be far more important than Gordon ever was.
