Short-term contract on cards for Sean Dyche in Everton manager news today
A short-term contract for Sean Dyche to become Everton manager could be on the cards, one which has the potential to be followed by a long-term deal, according to the Telegraph.
This news comes after former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly expressed his reservations about taking on the Toffees head coach role.
The report claims Dyche’s enthusiasm for taking the Everton job is a stark contrast to the attitude Bielsa is showing, something which may hand him the role.

“Talks have been held with both coaches and Dyche’s enthusiasm for the role – in stark contrast to Bielsa expressing reservations – may persuade Moshiri to reluctantly concede defeat in his pursuit of the South American,” as quoted by the Telegraph.
“Should Dyche emerge as the preferred candidate, it is likely to be initially as a short-term measure in the hope he can lead the side out of the drop zone. But if he impresses, that could open the way for a long-term contract.”

Smart move.
If Bielsa can’t be secured, then a short-term contract for a manager like Dyche would be the smartest move to make for Everton moving forward.
This will allow the club to see whether or not Dyche is deserving of a long-term deal and whether or not he could guide the club to Premier League safety.
Personally, a move for Bielsa is far more exciting and it would be nice to see the club take a completely different direction from recent appointments.
But in Dyche, the club would have a tried and tested pair of Premier League hands and he surely wouldn’t stand for the current nonsense that is wreaking havoc at the club.
He may even be able to convince some solid veterans to come into the team and change the attitude of the squad that currently stinks.
Whatever the case may be, the Blues need to get a move on in getting a manager signed, sealed and over the line, the harsh and hectic Premier League fixture list waits for no one.
