Sky Sports journalist shares if Anthony Gordon hands in Everton transfer request amid Newcastle links

Everton attacker Anthony Gordon has not yet handed in a transfer request despite growing speculation over a move to Newcastle.

According to Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves, Newcastle still remain confident about completing a deal for the 21-year-old Toffees attacker.

Gordon is expected to return to training for the Toffees today with his future still remaining up in the air.

Via Twitter, Graves wrote, “Anthony Gordon expected to train for #EFC today and has NOT handed in a transfer request. There’s a quiet confidence at #nufc that he’ll sign but not there yet. Other targets in other positions also being discussed on Tyneside.”

Get it done

Despite having an underwhelming season, Gordon still appears to be high on the wanted list at Newcastle, which bodes well for Everton.

He does not seem to have had his head in the game all season for the Toffees and it could be because he did not get his move to Chelsea over the summer.

He still remains one of the biggest assets at the club and his sale would give the new manager funds to sign players in the final few days of the window.

Everton

The club need to make that decision soon as well as there’s plenty of speculation mounting about who the next man in charge could be.

Marcelo Bielsa appears to have recently turned down the chance to manage Everton and it remains to be seen who they end up going for next.

Sean Dyche’s name has been thrown into the mix and it’ll be interesting to see who he ends up bringing through the door before the transfer deadline.
