Sean Dyche set to become new Everton manager Friday, contract length emerges
Sean Dyche is set to become the new Everton manager and could be announced on Friday until 2026, according to The Guardian.
Marcelo Bielsa was the top candidate for Farhad Moshiri and the Argentine flew in from Brazil on Thursday (26 January) for formal discussions.
He was thought to have reservations about the job and the squad, and having rejected the chance to takeover midseason the Toffees have turned to Dyche, who surged forward after talks with the club despite an initial reluctance at Goodison Park.

The Guardian’s Andy Hunter reports that the former Burnley boss could now be named on Friday (27 January) and is set for a two and a half year deal.
In contrast to Bielsa’s doubts about taking over midseason, Dyche reportedly “made it clear during talks that he would relish the opportunity to relaunch his Premier League managerial career at Everton”.
ASAP
If the decision is made then the club needs to get Dyche in place as soon as possible ready for him to contribute towards the end of the transfer window.
It always felt like former Leeds United boss Bielsa was going to be a tricky man to appoint in the middle of the season given his infamous way of playing would surely take some time to implement.
The 67-year-old would have been an intriguing appointment had it come between seasons, but with a relegation battle already well under way it could have been too much of a risk this month.

Dyche, 51, is famed for making Burnley hard to beat and keeping them in the Premier League for close to a decade on a minimal budget.
It is perhaps a measure of the reduced circumstances at Everton in the past couple of years that those qualities are now exactly what the club needs.
His appointment isn’t particularly eye-catching, but with top flight survival in major doubt he should be capable of getting an organised performance out of the current squad.
A contract until 2026 may also have half an eye on the dreaded possibility of relegation, giving him a chance to bring the club back up quickly, as he once did with the Clarets.
