Anthony Gordon at Newcastle United medical as Everton transfer exit closes in – Sky Sports
Anthony Gordon is at Newcastle United to undergo his medical with the finishing touches being put on his Everton exit, according to Sky Sports.
Gordon is set to become Newcastle’s second highest-ever transfer behind Swedish striker Alexander Isak in a deal worth £40m with £5 potential add-ons.
The forward’s Goodison Park exit will likely mean some incomings on Merseyside in the coming days but it is still unclear who Everton might target.

“Anthony Gordon is in the North East undergoing his medical at Newcastle, and putting the finishing touches to his £40m move, with £5m in potential add-ons,” as quoted by Sky Sports. (28 January, 09.03 AM)
“Gordon will become Newcastle’s second highest transfer, behind Alexander Isak, who the Magpies paid £60m for last summer.”

Fantastic business.
Selling Gordon for £40m+ is a bit of fantastic business from Everton especially when you consider the forward was struggling to start for the Toffees this season.
Yes, it is sad to see an academy prospect leave the club, but the fact Gordon sulked, missed training and forced his way out of the club says all you need to know.
That isn’t the kind of attitude you want from one of your star players, especially when the team are in the midst of a massive crisis.
So all in all, this transfer seems like the perfect move for all parties involved, Everton gets some much-needed transfer funds and Gordon gets his move away from Goodison.
Now, the Toffees must wait and prowl the transfer market for some potential bargains, it will be interesting to see who Sean Dyche opts to make moves for.
The Englishman will likely have a few veteran talents in mind to come and change the fortunes of the Blues, something this team desperately needs.
Let the Dyche Everton era begin.
