Chelsea inclined to accept Everton transfer bid for Anthony Gordon

Chelsea are reportedly inclined to offer the transfer offer they have received from Everton for midfielder Conor Gallagher.

According to Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella, if they sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, it would make sense to say yes to the £45million.

However, the one problem that arises is convincing the Englishman to leave as he loves the club and has been doing well of late.

Via Twitter, Kinsella wrote, “Chelsea are inclined to accept Everton’s £45m offer for Conor Gallagher (especially if the Enzo Fernandez operation is pulled off). The problem remains convincing the player who loves the club and has done well in recent weeks.”

Good move?

It’s pretty evident that the Toffees need some legs in midfield and also players to find the back of the net.

There have been links to a few attackers, but no bid has gone in for them thus far.

It seems like Sean Dyche wants Gallagher to be his first signing and the Toffees are paying exactly what they received from Anthony Gordon’s sale to Newcastle.

Everton

It makes a lot of sense to sign Gallagher and he will fit the bill perfectly for Dyche as he’s a combative and tireless midfielder who’s also a threat in the final third.

Whether or not the Toffees can pull this one off remains to be seen as there could be other clubs keeping an eye on him if they know he’s available.

Signing a potentially quality midfielder for this money does not seem as steep as it may first sound and if Everton want to seal this one, they’ve got to do so quickly.
