Everton and Southampton transfer pursuit comes to an end as Kamaldeen Sulemana makes decision

Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has reportedly decided to pick Southampton over Everton on transfer deadline day.

According to Get Football News France, the Ghana international will be moving to St. Mary’s for a fee in the region of £22million.

The Toffees were keen on securing his services, but have now missed out on signing the player on the final day of the window.

GFFN tweeted, “Kamaldeen Sulemana chooses Southampton over Everton & will move for €25m from Rennes.”

Not surprising

Everton’s shambolic approach throughout the month has led to them missing out on yet another target in the transfer window.

They decided to back Frank Lampard, but then sacked him midway through the window and did not officially announce a new manager until 30 January.

There’s no surprise why Sulemana felt that moving to Southampton would be better even though they’re having a distarous situation.

For once, money was not an issue and the player’s choice mattered and he decided to say no to the Toffees and he will be joining the Saints.

The Toffees even made a bid for him which was accepted and with the player on his way to the United Kingdom, there still remained hope.

However, they now will have to look elsewhere as the player has made up his mind and there’s a slim chance of there being any late hijack from Everton’s end.
