Everton board want minimum of two transfers as Sean Dyche makes Anthony Elanga highest-profile target
Anthony Elanga is the Everton board’s “highest-profile” target on transfer deadline day as they look to provide Sean Dyche with a minimum of two signings, according to The Mirror.
The Toffees will be looking to complete a flurry of late action in the winter window after the departure of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle freed up some funds for new manager Dyche to spend.
The Merseysiders will look to bring at least two fresh faces through the Goodison Park gates before Tuesday’s 11pm cutoff, with Manchester United winger Elanga linked with both a loan move (Daily Mail back page, 31 January) and a permanent transfer.

The Mirror (Tuesday 31 January, page 45) said: “The new boss will be given support to make the minimum of two signings he believes are vital to ensure the Blues’ 69-year-old continuous presence in the top flight continues – with Manchester United star Anthony Elanga the highest-profile target.”

Goals?
If a signing of Elanga is coupled with that of a striker, then Everton fans will leave the transfer deadline day relatively pleased, considering how late they have left it.
The 20-year-old is very similar in his style of play to Gordon was Everton, and the energy the winger provides could be a useful tool for Dyche to make use of. The main issue is the lack of goals he has scored in his career – picking up a single assist from 13 league appearances this season.
Dyche will still like the possibility of signing Elanga, however, as he would be a willing runner in the press and could offer the Toffees a brilliant option on the counterattack.
If the Red Devils youngster is given a run of games in the Premier League, who knows what is possible for him?
The proposed minutes to the attacker could prove crucial in the club he decides to ply his trade at for the rest of the season or even on a permanent deal.
