Medical tomorrow: Andre Ayew to jet into UK with Everton after transfer deal – Dharmesh Sheth

Andre Ayew will be flying to the United Kingdom to undergo his medical ahead of a potential move in the next 24 hours, with Everton still in the race for his signature, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

Nottingham Forest are also interested and it is unclear at the moment where Ayew will join next.

The destination of the club hasn’t been decided yet, but he will move to a Premier League club, that’s for sure. The 33-year-old is a free agent, and he can join after the end of the window as well.

“Andre Ayew is a free agent now so he doesn’t have to be done within the transfer window,” said Sheth on Sky Sports News (7:53 pm, 31 January).

“We’re told that Everton are interested in him and Nottingham Forest as well. We’re still waiting from confirmation from those clubs whether that information is for real or not.

“It’s come from one source. And Ayew and his representative will be flying in tomorrow to do a medical. But the destination of his club hasn’t been decided yet.”

Depressing

With time running out, is this what Everton have come up with?

This is depressing on so many levels. The entire month has been wasted and the club couldn’t find a replacement of Anthony Gordon who joined Newcastle United.

The Toffees made attempts to sign a few players but they were unsuccessful.

Ayew has got Premier League experience, no doubt, but he is definitely not the one whom the club can rely on to take them out of this present mess.

Everton

This is just pathetic. Obviously, the club didn’t want to make any panic buys, but there’s now a genuine fear about whether the Toffees would be able to survive this season.

The squad has been severely depleted following the loss of Gordon and Ayew cannot replace him. No way.

He has previously played for Swansea City and West Ham and has been a great player for Ghana. He enjoyed a fruitful spell in Qatar as well.

Having said that, his signing doesn’t exude confidence among the fans. Let’s hope the Toffees can still pull off one or two more signings on the deadline day, apart from Ayew.
