Everton pay transfer price as Andre Ayew finishes Nottingham Forest medical
Everton have reportedly paid the price for their indecision and have lost the race to Nottingham Forest for Andre Ayew.
According to the Daily Mail [2 February], the former West Ham striker has already undergone his medical at Forest on 1 February.
The Toffees were in pole position to secure his services but took too long to get the deal done and their fellow relegation candidates stepped in.
Ayew is one of a number of players to have turned down a move to Goodison Park this summer.
Better options?
We’re hoping that the Toffees went cold on Ayew because there are better options out there otherwise it makes very little sense.

He’s not the signing that gets fans excited but he’s at least another option in the final third and will offer some goal threat.
Neal Maupay has been dismal since arriving at Goodison Park and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not gotten out of second gear just yet.
It’s time that there is a complete overhaul behind the scenes and it starts with Farhad Moshiri leaving the club for good and cashing in.
He may have spent a lot of money at Everton, but most of it has been spent badly and there’s been too much external influence from agents as well.
We’re hoping that before the new stadium is ready, Moshiri has nothing to do with the club and Everton should be close to going back to being one of the best in the land.
