Everton confirm starting XI for Premier League clash v Arsenal

Everton have confirmed their starting XI for their Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday 4 February with two changes made.

Sean Dyche decided to make two changes in his first game in charge of the Toffees with Dwight McNeil and Abdoulaye Doucoure coming into the team to start against the Gunners.

As confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Dyche opted to start some tried and tested Premier League talents in what he hopes will be a strong start to life on Merseyside but made the huge call to drop the in-form Demarai Gray.

Tough as they get.

It doesn’t come much tougher than a match against a red-hot Arsenal side who are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table.

And Dyche will have it all to do in his first match as Everton boss, especially after he wasn’t backed in the dying days of the January transfer window.

Fans will be hoping though, that the old, tried and tested remedy of the new manager bounce and the curse of the early kick-off will wreak havoc on Arsenal.

The Gunners will be weary of this one themselves because of that fact and they will be facing a completely different opposition to the last time Everton played.

A result today for the Toffees lifts morale to a different level and it’s very much needed to help kick-start the new era at Goodison Park under Dyche.

Three points would be wonderful for the Blues but fans would settle for a point out of this one come to the end of this afternoon.
