Piers Morgan: Everton ‘bullied’ Arsenal in Premier League win, gets into it with official club Twitter

Piers Morgan admitted that Everton “bullied” Arsenal in their Premier League win on Saturday afternoon, before clashing with the official club Twitter account.

The Toffees claimed a 1-0 win thanks to James Tarkowski’s header to take all three points at Goodison Park and temporarily move out of the relegation zone.

After the game Morgan took to his personal Twitter account and labelled Everton as “one of the worst teams in the Premier League” despite the defeat, which sparked a back and forth interaction with the club account mocking his original post.

“Dismal Arsenal performance today,” he wrote (4 February). “We’ve been bullied around by one of the worst teams in the Premier League. Inexplicable.”

Everton then responded with a message of their own, quoting that tweet with an image of Sean Dyche smiling and laughing from his Burnley days.

Morgan couldn’t let it lie however and quickly responded to that, claiming the Toffees will be relegated.

“See how cocky you’re feeling when we win the League and you get relegated…” he wrote.

Brilliant

There probably isn’t a single Everton fan around who expected a win in the game against Arsenal considering the performances of both clubs so far this season.

But Dyche seems to have immediately got through to the players and instilled hard work and discipline into the squad that we never saw under Frank Lampard.

The result was obviously exceptional, but it was the performance that fans will leave fans happy about because at no point were we under any real threat for a sustained period of time and we fully deserved the win.

Morgan is known to be a bit of a cry baby online, so it’s also great to be able to get one over on him after this game and fans will be buzzing that the club got involved too.

Now we need to have the last laugh in all of this and ensure he can’t return to this in a few months about being right, so securing safety is vital.
