Everton transfer news as Sean Dyche shares update on new arrivals

Sean Dyche has shared that his current focus is on the Everton squad he already has, after being asked about exploring the free agents market.

Everton made no new signings in the January transfer window, something which left fans of the club upset and riled after constant links to new players.

Now Dyche has seemed to shut down any possibilities of free agents coming into the fold at Goodison Park, something which may actually be a good thing for the team.

“Sean Dyche on Everton potentially looking at free transfers,” said Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas on Twitter. (10 February, 1:43 PM)

“Says at this stage he is focusing on the players already within the squad.”

Everton

Month to forget.

January was a month to forget for the Blues and pretty much highlighted everything that is currently wrong with the club at the moment.

Dyche’s appointment and the win over Arsenal have slightly glossed over the cracks that had been emerging and it’s easy to forget just how poor things were a few weeks back.

The summer transfer window simply can’t go down the same way as January and the Toffees need to invest and reinvent themselves before the 2023/2024 campaign begins.

For now, Dyche is right in sticking by the options he currently has in his ranks and making a move for an out-of-favour free agent would just be another foolish transfer mistake.

Everton needs a set transfer plan moving forward and a philosophy from which they can sign players that fit the project Dyche is trying to create.

This can only come after Premier League survival is achieved, however, it would be even more embarrassing for the club if they didn’t learn from their mistakes last month when the transfer window reopens.
