Liverpool midfielder Thiago absent from training ahead of Premier League clash v Everton
Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has missed training ahead of Monday evening’s Merseyside Derby clash against Everton, according to Liverpool World.
The 31-year-old featured against Wolverhampton Wanderers and has been a constant in Jurgen Klopp’s plans in the 2022/23 campaign.
However, Liverpool World (10 February) has revealed the Spanish maestro was absent from training on Thursday (9 February).

“One of those was Thiago Alcantara. The midfielder played 85 minutes for Liverpool in the loss to Wolves and has made 24 appearances in total this season,” they wrote.
“Thiago had a spell out with a hamstring injury he sustained in the 2-2 draw against Fulham on the opening day of the season.
“Since then, however, he’s been unscathed. It could be that the Spain international is being managed by Klopp given the issues he’s had in the past. Thiago has started the past 10 games on the spin.”
Chance
It’s amazing what a week can do in football. Everton are now heading into this fixture fancying their chances of getting a result. Klopp’s side have endured a really tough season by their standards and the pressure is firmly on the red side of Stanley Park to pick up a positive result.
Sean Dyche has brought a new lease of life to Goodison Park and the win over Arsenal has immediately reduced the pressure which was mounting on the players. The trip to Anfield is almost a free hit. No one would usually expect Everton to pick up three points and if they don’t win on Monday, it won’t be the end of the world.

The Toffees don’t have any fresh injury concerns for the fixture, which is another boost for the former Burnley boss. The 51-year-old will be eager to field a consistent starting eleven and having a fit and healthy squad will only benefit him further.
