Injury expert shares early Everton team news ahead of Premier League showdown v Liverpool

Everton are set to be without three players for their Premier League clash against Liverpool on Monday evening, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

James Garner and Andros Townsend are both long-term absentees and are not expected to return to first-team action until the start of March (Premier injuries website).

Nathan Patterson is also “ruled out” of the fixture at Anfield, with the young Scottish defender not expected to return until 18 February. However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane could both feature, with Dinnery rating their chances of playing at “25 per cent”.

Winnable game

This game against Liverpool suddenly looks like an excellent opportunity for Everton to pick up three points. No one saw the performance against Arsenal coming, and it will give the squad a huge boost as they head across Stanley Park to face their fierce rivals.

Furthermore, Liverpool’s form plays into Everton’s hands. Jurgen Klopp is a man under pressure and has been resorting to multiple excuses in recent weeks to explain his side’s dreadful performances. The German will know the significance of this game and the pressure is firmly on the red side of Merseyside to deliver.

Even though there’s pressure on the Toffees to pick up points, the players will be heading to Anfield feeling like they can pick up a positive result. Sean Dyche has already shown he knows how to get on over on the so-called big six, and it would not be a surprise to see him repeat the trick on Monday evening (13 February).
