Liverpool duo ruled out of Everton clash, three more remain doubts
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool duo Thiago and Virgil van Dijk have been ruled out of the Everton clash on Monday.
The Spanish midfielder was subbed off late in the loss against Wolves and has issues with his hip that stopped him from training.
Roberto Firmino, Arthur Melo and Diogo Jota are doubts too but the Portuguese is likely to be in the matchday squad.

Klopp said via Liverpool’s official website, “Thiago has some problems. I know the problems, but I have to ask the medical department what I am allowed to say about it. Hip flexor, stuff like this, that’s it pretty much. He wasn’t able to train.
“Virgil, I don’t think he is that close already, but we will work on that as well.
“We have to see how that [Firmino injury] looks now, how he deals with training intensity [and] stuff like this and then we make a decision there.
“Arthur, probably similar to Bobby, I would say.
“Diogo is the closest, he trains now normal already for two days, so another three days [of] training is possible for him. I think he is in contention for the squad, I would say, but we have to wait a little bit.”
There for the taking
This Liverpool midfield has already been extremely dysfunctional throughout the season.
Without Thiago, it’s hard to seem find a way to win and that’s perfect for Everton to capitalise.
Their midfield against Arsenal was impeccable and they’re all still proving themselves to the new manager so we can expect pretty high standards.

The players are already gonna be buoyed because it’s a Merseyside derby and the new manager bounce can carry them over the line.
Joleon Lescott has been spot on with his prediction and it’s hard to find a flaw in his assessment even though he’s biased towards Everton.
Had it been another manager, Jurgen Klopp would’ve been sacked but he has credit in the bank even though his side are nowhere near good enough as they should be.
