Erik ten Hag admires Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as Manchester United eye summer transfer

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly admires one aspect of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford who is yet to sign a new deal.

According to the Mirror on 12 February, United are considering a move for the England international in the summer as the Dutchman admires his ability to play with his feet.

There are doubts over David de Gea’s future who has come under tremendous criticism for his lack of ball-playing ability.

Will be tough

Everton have to keep Pickford at all costs but it’s going to be tough as it will factor on multiple conditions.

If the Toffees get relegated, it’s all but guaranteed that he will be leaving the club in the summer as he’s far too good for the Championship.

Another reason he could leave is that a club offers him Champions League football and a hefty pay raise that would tempt him to seal an exit.

Currently, United are expected to finish in the top four and definitely will offer a better deal to the England number one.

It could be a waiting game now from Pickford and he’s perhaps waiting to see what happens until the end of the season as he surely would want to play Champions League football.

It’s understood that Dyche is desperate for him to put pen on paper on a new deal but we’re not expecting a resolution any time soon.
