Leon Osman sends Everton reality check jibe after derby defeat v Liverpool
Sky Sports pundit Leon Osman has claimed that Everton were given a brutal “reality check” in their Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool on 13 February.
Osman expressed his disappointment with how the Toffees performed at Anfield after the club’s sensational win over Arsenal last weekend.
The Toffees are currently floundering in 18th place in the Premier League something that needs to drastically change if they want to escape a potential relegation.

“I thought maybe it would be like Leeds’ win here, but it was disappointing, it was a bit of a reality check,” said Osman live on Sky Sports as quoted by the Daily Mail. (13 February)
“I think I look at Everton this season and that’s been an Achilles heel with regards to away form.”

Onwards.
Every Evertonian would have taken three points from the two games against Arsenal and Liverpool when Dyche first arrived on Merseyside.
It’s hard not to be disappointed by last night’s performance though and it was a crazy contrast to how the team performed at home to the Gunners.
Goodison Park is going to have to become a fortress for the rest of the campaign if the Blues stand any chance of beating the dreaded drop.
Away form needs to drastically improve too and unfortunately, this seems to be where the Toffees are coming up short at the moment.
Dyche has a lot of factors going against him right now and the job was never going to be plain sailing for the Englishman.
The failure to make any signings in January is still a sore point with a majority of the support and this is clearly where the club have gone wrong this season.
A win against Leeds United on 18 February would ease relegation fears slightly and it’s games like this where Premier League survival will be won or lost.
