Everton planning ‘rich transfer campaign’ if they stay in the Premier League, Noa Lang being monitored

Everton are planning a rich transfer campaign this summer if they manage to stay in the Premier League, and monitoring the situation of Club Brugge forward Noa Lang, according to Calciomercato.

Lang, who featured for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar, was said to likely to be on the move in January according to Fabrizio Romano [Caught Offside] with the Belgian giants demanding £31m.

The Toffees have previously been linked with Lang in the past with journalist Dean Jones [GiveMeSport, 27 December] claiming that the Blues could be an option for the forward alongside Leeds United.

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato [14 February], the Toffees are planning a rich transfer campaign this summer if they stay in the Premier League, and are very popular in their interest of Lang.

The talented forward is also closely being monitored by AC Milan, according to the report.

Attacking quality needed

It is evidently clear, new manager Sean Dyche is suffering from a lack of real quality in his attacking weaponry, with only Demarai Gray, Dwight McNeil and Alex Iwobi to call upon after the £45m sale of Anthony Gordon.

It was incredibly disappointing the Toffees failed to add to their squad in January, following Dyche’s appointment, and the former Burnley boss now has a real job on his hands trying to navigate out of a relegation battle with such limited options.

Once again, the club are in real danger of relegation, especially after last season’s debacle and there is a real concern that the Toffees are arguably less equipped right now than they were last term which makes Dyche’s job all the more difficult.

It will be an absolute miracle if he manages to keep them up, but it is mightily imperative he is backed with funds to rejuvenate the squad if they do, and acquiring Lang certainly makes perfect sense as the squad desperately needs attacking quality.

With AC Milan also in the frame though, it makes a potential move seem unlikely.
