Joleon Lescott predicts result of ‘Huge’ Everton Premier League clash v Leeds United
Joleon Lescott has admitted that he is hoping that Everton can get the job done when they face Leeds in the Premier League this weekend.
The Toffees come into the game in the relegation zone, having lost the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool on Monday (13 February) but are just one point behind Leeds ahead of the clash.
With the Goodison Park crowd right behind Sean Dyche’s side, former defender Lescott told LiveScore (17 February) that a win could spark a “huge momentum shift” for the rest of the season.
“What a huge game for both sides,” he said. “Everton leapfrogging Leeds with a win would potentially spark a huge momentum shift.
“The Whites are taking a long time to appoint Jesse Marsch’s replacement and that could prove costly ahead of this crunch encounter.
“I’m hoping that my old club can get the job done. Prediction: Everton 2-1 Leeds.”

There are no ifs, buts or maybes about it – this is a must win game for Everton on Saturday afternoon.
The team have been struggling for goals all season, with the least goals scored all season, and defensively they have really struggled to keep clean sheets too.
But these games against the sides around them in the table are going to be their best chance to pick up points, especially at Goodison Park, and the team simply cannot let them slip.
The fans showed last season how important they can be in a relegation battle, and even last time out against Arsenal they were the 12th man to get the team over the line.
A win over Leeds takes them out of the relegation zone and puts safety right back into their hands, and they can’t allow their destiny to be based on what others are doing.
