Journalist reacts as David Harrison quits Everton for Manchester United
Daily Mail’s Dominic King believes that it’s a big blow for Everton to lose David Harrison to Manchester United after being at the club for 27 years.
The Toffees announced that Harrison will be leaving the club to take over the role of Director of Football Operations at the Manchester outfit.
He was responsible for overseeing first-team operations that included the day-to-day planning and organisation of the Finch Farm operation.
Via Twitter, King wrote, “At a time when Everton need all the good people they need to get back on track, David Harrison’s move to Manchester United to be their new Director of Football Operations is a huge loss. He had the respect of everyone at Goodison Park, he’ll get it off everyone at Old Trafford.”
Big loss
Contract Dave was one of the few people in the Everton boardroom who was actually liked by the fans and to see him leave is certainly going to be a disappointment.
There is so much that needs to change at the club and the last thing that they need is to let go of someone close to the fans.
For nearly three decades he has worked tirelessly for the club and he certainly has deserved the step up in his career and return to the club where he once worked at.

It remains to be seen how Everton look to replace him and given their track record, we do not expect them to get the right person in for the job.
Any new appointments will certainly hinge on the takeover and if it’s imminent, they may pull the plug on making an immediate announcement.
It’s understood that a New York based company is now keen on investing in the Toffees and it remains to be seen whether or not that goes ahead as per plan.
