Michael Owen makes Everton relegation prediction after Leeds United win

Michael Owen believes that Everton will now safely avoid relegation from the Premier League after they beat Leeds United 1-0.

The former Liverpool captain also put special importance on the arrival of Sean Dyche and how that will lead to them conceding fewer goals.

He believes that Everton fans were worried about relegation but now will rest easy under the former Burnley manager.

He told Premier League Productions (18/02, 20:50) It’s massive [win against Leeds]. The arrival of Sean Dyche has given them a huge lift.

“A lot of fans were worried about relegation. Now I can’t see how they’re going to concede too many goals. I think Everton will be all right. It was a masterstroke to appoint Dyche.”

Spot on

Even in the loss against Liverpool, the Toffees did not look as open as they were under Frank Lampard, who had a hard time organising this side.

It could be down to his lack of experience and we do not blame him for that as it’s not an easy job, given the high expectations.

However, this is Sean Dyche territory as he’s been in this situation more seasons than not when he was Burnley manager.

Even without signings, we expect him Everton up and that will show the board that he’s worth trusting with good money in the summer transfer window.

Hopefully, the Toffees do not sustain too many injuries as their first XI has quality players who will be improved under Dyche.

Seamus Coleman has also been impressive under the new manager and Ian Wright was a big fan of his goal against Leeds United.
