Door could open for Tom Davies to revive Everton future under Sean Dyche
Everton face Aston Villa in their next Premier League game at Goodison Park on Saturday (25 February) and Tom Davies could feature.
Amadou Onana should start in midfield alongside Idriss Gueye, but the Belgian midfielder picked up a knee injury in the last game.
Onana suggested that there are “no worries”, and it may not be serious, but the Toffees are still sweating on his fitness. In case, he misses out, Dyche will have a conundrum to shuffle his midfield pack.

According to a report from Liverpool Echo, Davies will be the first person to replace Onana in midfield. He came on in the 77th minute against Leeds United but could start against Villa.
Davies, who has progressed through the youth ranks at the club, is facing a tough time. He has battled with fitness issues and is facing an uncertain future as well.
The 24-year-old has managed just four starts in the Premier League this season. He is out of contract at the end of the season, and there are no indications that the club would offer him any new deal.

The next few months will be crucial. Dyche will look to give him more minutes, but he will have to make the best use of it.
Davies is a different type of midfielder from Onana. He is a more attacking-minded midfielder and likes to carry the ball forward. Certainly, Dyche can get the best out of him.
Everton have been very poor away from home, so they have to win matches at Goodison Park to save themselves from relegation. Davies could still play a big role this season, but it is up to him to make the best use of the opportunities.
With his contract running out, it’s now or never for him. He must grab these opportunities with both hands.
