Martin Calladine cries out for Everton answers after fan token developments since January

Football author Martin Calladine has urged fans to give him some answers after he shared some “puzzling” developments surrounding the Everton fan tokens.

Calladine highlighted that there had been something weird going on with the fan tokens earlier this week, pointing to a massive surge in their trading volumes.

He confessed that since what he shared on Twitter, he has not been able to “solicit” a convincing explanation for what is actually happening.

“To date, I’ve not been able to solicit a single convincing explanation for what’s happening with Everton tokens and why is began on 23rd January,” said Calledine on Twitter. (23 February, 1:39 PM)

“If you have an idea, please let me know.”

Everton

Bizarre.

The weird and wonderful world of fan tokens at football clubs seems to have gotten Calladine questioning just what exactly is going on with them, especially at Everton.

As the football author highlighted the bizarre thing, in this case, is that the price of the Everton token hasn’t changed at all despite the “huge” increase in trading volume.

It’s a strange case, to say the least, and it’s possible that the increased volume has been put in place to make the price of the fan token look more credible.

Especially, if it’s been trading at the same price for a while, before the increase in volume this is.

All in all, would-be investors of any fan token, in particular, this Everton one should steer well clear of getting involved with it, although, the financial implications of doing so are quite minimal.

Fans tokens could be something in the future that would be beneficial to clubs and fans alike but right now, it’s far from a finished product that’s worth getting excited about.
