Everton team news v Aston Villa: Dominic Calvert-Lewin ruled out

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to miss the Everton clash against Aston Villa but Amadou Onana will be fit enough after his injury v Leeds United.

Sean Dyche has confirmed that the Englishman will be missing the game, but it was a positive update on the Belgian midfielder.

The Toffees are in a relegation battle and predicted to go down despite picking up the three points against the Whites.

Via Twitter, Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas wrote, “Sean Dyche does not believe Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be available for the game with Aston Villa but is pleased with his progress.

“Adds Amadou Onana is fit for the game after the knee issue that saw him brought off against Leeds last weekend.”

There for the taking

Under Dyche, Everton will surely be fancying their chances against any team at Goodison Park.

We saw how well they did against Arsenal and Leeds United and there’s no reason to bet against them getting something from this one.

Unai Emery has done a good job there but a lot of it has been on individuals bailing them out.

If they don’t have a good start and Everton knick an early goal, Dyche is going to make it extremely hard for Villa to break this side down.

He’s made this Toffees midfield into a colossus trio and we do not expect him making any changes to his midfield or attack for this one.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s performances have come under some criticism but apart from that, it’s a good enough side to pick up three points.
