Micah Richards fires back at Jamie Carragher after what he said about Everton

Micah Richards has fired back at Jamie Carragher after he insisted that he would not have joined Everton after playing for Liverpool throughout his career.

Kate Abdo quizzed her panellists after the last round of Champions League games, asking if they would join their fiercest rivals for triple the wage back in their playing days.

Carragher floated the idea of a move to Everton or Manchester United, leading him to disagree before Richards reminded him he actually supported the Toffees when younger.

Speaking live on CBS Sports, as shared on their social channels, Carragher made it abundantly clear that he would not have made the move to Goodison Park in his career.

“I wouldn’t have done that, no,” he said. “To sign for Everton or Manchester United? No.”

Richards was very quick to remind the former Liverpool defender that he had much more ties to the Toffees in his younger life which were being overlooked.

“Hold on,” he replied. “Weren’t you an Everton fan?”

Everton

Fine Line.

As Rafa Benitez found out the hard way, no one, no matter who would likely be accepted if he swapped the red side of Merseyside for the blue in their careers.

Carragher has been on the wrong side of those at Goodison Park recently with his claims that the Toffees are the worst-run side in the country, so he is only doubling down.

Richards is right though, he was quick to remind the defender of his routes.

Tripling your wages is an interesting concept too, with Everton the most likely club to throw money away and up the wall on players who would likely have been useless.

Farhad Moshiri thankfully was not in charge back in those days, or he will have caused some real carnage even earlier than he has done at Goodison Park.

Now, with Sean Dyche at the helm and potential new investors coming, hopefully, those days will be put behind the club and they can look forward to better times at Everton.
