Clubs will be looking at Everton after Sean Dyche was appointed in January – Robbie Savage

Robbie Savage believes some Premier League clubs will be looking at Everton after their Sean Dyche appointment wondering “why” they didn’t make moves for the Englishman.

Writing in the Daily Mirror print edition (25 February, pg.63), Savage reckons teams in and around Everton in the relegation zone will be kicking themselves over their decision to ignore Dyche.

Dyche has had a terrific start to life at Goodison Park, gaining six points from a possible nine, with two big wins over Arsenal and Leeds United.

“I suspect there are one or two clubs looking at Everton since they changed managers and wondering, ‘Why did we miss the boat and leave Sean Dyche on the sidelines when he was available?’,” said Savage as quoted by the Daily Mirror print edition (25 February, pg.63).

Savage isn’t far off on this one, Dyche is the man for the job here and now and is proving all his Premier League naysayers extremely wrong right now.

Brighter days.

Is that the sun shining over Goodison Park right now? Dyche has brought some brighter days with him to Merseyside and long may it continue.

Results and performances on the pitch have massively improved and this is still without a decent goalscorer within the Toffees ranks.

Jordan Pickford signing a new contract this week is a testament to what Dyche is doing at the club and it’s a trend that will hopefully follow in future transfer windows.

Premier League safety has by no means been secured just yet, but Everton and Dyche are slowly but surely going about their business in doing so.

A win against Aston Villa at Goodison Park this afternoon would put the Toffees even further out of harm’s way, something which seemed impossible a few months back.

Arsenal and Nottingham Forest will then take on the Blues in what promises to be an interesting month of Premier League football.
