Sky Sports pundit predicts Everton survival chances in wake of Sean Dyche arrival
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell likes what Sean Dyche is doing in charge of Everton and believes the club will have enough to survive this season as a result.
The former Burnley boss has won both of his matches at Goodison Park so far, with gritty 1-0 wins over Arsenal and Leeds United dragging the Toffees out of the relegation zone.
Ex-Everton captain Campbell, a Sky Sports pundit, is pleased with what he has seen so far despite the rather more lacklustre performance away at Liverpool, and expects the club to stay up.

He exclusively told Goodison News: “I believe they will survive. They’ve gone back to basics which is the right thing to do.”
“Home form is going to be key, but I like what he’s doing so far.
“Away form is always going to take a bit of time to address, but it’s the home form.
“And he’s had two home games and got six points out of them so you’ve got to say that’s good going.”

Unless a manager was available who could come in and inspire this squad to immediately play free-flowing attacking football then the Dyche method looked like the most likely route out of trouble.
It is only three games in and a defeat to Aston Villa in the next outing at Goodison will knock things off course again, but a robust set up that has made the team hard to break down at the back while fighting harder than the two teams Everton have beaten is exactly what Dyche advocates would have been hoping for.
With so much riding on top flight survival it doesn’t matter how safety is ensured for the remainder of the season, so a continuation of what he has managed to implement so far will certainly be good enough.
