Everton transfer news as Yerry Mina emerges as long-time target for Atlético Mineiro
Everton defender Yerry Mina has been eyed up for a “long time” by Brazilian giants Atletico Mineiro, according to Brazilian news outlet radaresportes.
Mina is out of contract at the Toffees this summer and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the senior centre-back move away from the Premier League.
The report from radaresportes claims that Mineiro has had their “eye” on Mina, however, they aren’t the only Brazilian club interested in his signature.

“Atlético-MG has had its eye on the player for a long time and welcomes his arrival this season,” as quoted by radaresportes (25 February).
“In addition to the team Minas Gerais, other Brazilian clubs are also monitoring Mina’s situation.”

End of the road?
Things have become stale and difficult for Mina at Goodison Park and it’s fairly clear that the veteran defender isn’t part of Sean Dyche’s plans.
And with his contract nearing its end, a move away from Merseyside may be the best solution for all parties involved in this one.
Injuries haven’t helped Mina fully get a chance at Everton either but his lack of appearances this season and last prove he is now surplus to requirements.
Getting players like Mina off the wage bill to free up funds for fresh new talents has to be one of the priorities of the club’s hierarchy this summer.
If Mina was fit and firing all the time this would be a completely different story, nevertheless, he isn’t and his constant lack of availability has become far too frustrating.
Cashing in during the January transfer window would have been the sensible option to take as now it looks like Everton will have to make peace with receiving nothing for the Colombian.
