Everton injury news as serious Dominic Calvert-Lewin update emerges

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury is “serious” enough that he still has no return date pencilled in, according to The Mirror Sport (pg 8, 27 February).

Sean Dyche lost his second game as Toffees boss at the weekend in a lacklustre 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The club’s lack of a goalscoring threat was yet again on full display in the fixture and Calvert-Lewin’s importance to the starting XI has never been more important.

“But Dyche does not have even the prospect of transforming his main goalscoring threat, because Calvert-Lewin is not in training,” as quoted by The Mirror Sport (pg 8, 27 February).

“His hamstring issue is serious enough that there is no return date for him pencilled in.”

Everton

Nightmare.

Evertonians’ worst fears are starting to transpire in the Premier League, the team doesn’t look like scoring goals and Calvert-Lewin is nowhere to be seen.

This could be the very reason Everton get relegated this season and is a problem that should have been addressed in the summer, never mind January.

Kevin Thelwell and Farhad Moshiri will have blood on their hands come to the end of this campaign if the Blues are doomed to Championship relegation.

Dyche is doing the best he can with a bang-average squad right now and the team are creating chances but failing to capitalise on them in front of the goal.

Calvert-Lewin’s return from injury has never been needed more than it is now, however, there is nothing to suggest that he will be returning to action anytime soon.

Buckle up Blues, it’s going to be a long few months, one without many goals being scored.
