Everton: Gabby Agbonlahor issues scathing ‘toothless’ verdict after clash v Aston Villa
TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has issued a scathing attack on Everton claiming the Merseyside club were “toothless” against Aston Villa.
Agbonlahor confessed that the pressure for Everton fans to consistently back their club to win games shouldn’t be needed on every occasion in the Premier League.
Everton sank into the dreaded drop zone after the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Goodison Park with their goalscoring woes on full display yet again.
“It was a home game against Aston Villa and they were toothless,” said Agbonlahor live on TalkSPORT. (28 February)
“We spoke to Everton fans on the show after the game on Saturday and they were all like why do we have to be the ones that lift the team? Can’t the team just go and play and get a result without the 12th man?
“So I do think Everton will scrape through but they have got to find a way of getting these points.”

Not wrong.
Agbonlahor isn’t wrong at all here and Everton really does need to buck up their ideas if they are to remain in the Premier League next season.
Sean Dyche has a massive uphill struggle on his hands if he is to keep the club up, however, he has demonstrated in his short time on Merseyside that he can do just that.
Signings in the forward departments are simply essential when the summer transfer window reopens and this is ultimately what is costing Everton points during this campaign.
Farhad Moshiri and Kevin Thelwell have taken a massive risk by hoping Dyche can keep this squad up through a major lack of investment in January.
A risk that may well not be pulled off and something you could hardly blame Dyche for should the Blues suffer relegation to the Championship.
Two tough away trips await the Toffees next in the form of Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, with luck, some points can be gathered.
