Everton injury news as club now desperate on Dominic Calvert-Lewin blow

Everton are “desperate” for forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin to return from injury after Sean Dyche confirmed the Englishman will miss the trip to Arsenal on 1 March, according to the Mirror [pg 48, 28 February].

The club’s forward woes have been on full display since Dyche took over the reins from Frank Lampard and it’s a problem that desperately needs sorting out.

Calvert-Lewin is currently nursing a hamstring injury and has only played 62 minutes under Dyche since he joined the ranks at Goodison Park.

“Everton boss Dyche confirmed star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss tomorrow’s clash with leaders Arsenal at the Emirates,” as quoted by the Mirror pg 48 (28 February).

“The Toffees are low on striking options and are desperate for the return of Calvert-Lewin, who is battling a hamstring injury and has played just 62 minutes under Dyche.”

Everton

Costly mistake.

There is simply no point in rushing back Calvert-Lewin at this point, it hasn’t worked for the Blues before and it will only set the striker back even further.

Not getting in a like-for-like replacement for the forward is what has cost the Toffees so dearly and it’s unfair to now solely rely on Calvert-Lewin to return to action.

Two away games back to back tied in with the Blues torrid away form will be tough and Dyche will have to get this team scoring one way or another.

Dyche has already managed to trump Arsenal since being at Goodison and a performance of similar ilk will be needed to topple the league leaders at their home ground.

Forest away at the City Ground isn’t the most pleasant trip to be made during a relegation scrap either and Everton will have it all to do there if they want to gain anything from the game.
