Michael Ball sick of Everton joke in the Premier League
Pundit Michael Ball is sick of the long-running joke that Everton are the easy team to come and play to get points from in the Premier League.
Ball confessed that the Toffees away form this season has been “atrocious” with Everton facing back-to-back away fixtures in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo (28 February) Ball raged at the fact that Everton were getting outbattled and fought in Premier League games.

“If we switch off like we did against Aston Villa then we’re going to get punished. Our away form has been atrocious for a long, long time and Nottingham Forest ended up getting a hiding last weekend at West Ham United so they’ll be determined to put things right in front of their own home fans,” said Ball as quoted by the Liverpool Echo. (28 February)
“It seems to have been a running joke that if teams need a win, they should come and play Everton. That’s the mentality as fans that we’re all sick of.
“We don’t mind getting beat by a team that outperforms us but what I don’t like is getting out-battled by a team that shows more desire.”

Sketchy times.
Just as things started to look a little brighter around Goodison Park, the performance against Aston Villa left many fans questioning whether the club can survive this season.
Everton’s lack of goals and threat in and around the box is worrying, to say the least, and the Toffees need someone to step up to the plate for them in this department.
But who has the talent and ability to do that is pretty unclear right now and it just seems like Sean Dyche and the club are praying for a Dominic Calvert-Lewin return.
The injury-prone forward isn’t the type of man you want to be relying on to save your campaign but unfortunately, this is the position the club have left itself in.
Failing to sign a formidable striker in the summer or January has left the squad seriously lacking in firepower and it may just be the reason why the club are relegated.
