Jeff Stelling predicts result of Everton clash v Arsenal for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has predicted a comfortable Arsenal win when they host Everton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday (1 March).

The Toffees fell back into the relegation zone after defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend, and now travel to the league leaders just weeks after beating them 1-0 in Sean Dyche’s first game in charge.

But despite that, Stelling told Super 6 (28 February) that he expects Arsenal to win the game “comfortably” and is predicting a 2-0 scoreline for the home side.

“I think Arsenal will beat Everton comfortably to go five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, which will be a great boost for them as they face Bournemouth on Saturday,” he said.

Ouch

It’s pretty expected that Everton are going to get beaten at the Emirates Stadium by Arsenal on Wednesday, making the fight against relegation even more difficult.

But the same was said a few weeks ago when they came to Goodison Park, and we battered them for the most part and came away with a very well deserved three points.

Everton

If we can turn in a similar performance it will be of great encouragement to fans, even if the result may not necessarily match up.

Performances against Liverpool and Aston Villa recently have been nowhere near good enough for a club like this, and we need to see progression to believe we can get out of this.

The game is basically a free-hit because there is no expectation on us whatsoever, but we need points and anything from games such as these is a bonus. Hopefully we can prove Stelling wrong and upset them again.
