Chelsea defender Thiago Silva likely to be out for six weeks and miss Everton Premier League clash

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is reportedly likely to be out for six weeks which will see him miss games against relegation candidates Everton and Leeds United.

According to the Daily Mail on 28 February, the Blues confirmed that he suffered knee ligament damage against Spurs but did not put a timeline on his return.

However, after scans, it is now understood that he could be out until April, further adding to Graham Potter’s woes at the club.

Graham Potter

Big boost

Chelsea haven’t been at their best and we’re not expecting things to change by the time they take on 18 March at Stamford Bridge.

They may go into that one as favourites but there are early signs of Sean Dyche getting a tune out of this Everton side.

He’s made them harder to beat and as he proved with the win against Arsenal, they’re not afraid to take on the big boys and give them a run for their money.

Everton

Silva is Chelsea’s best defender and he would’ve been their ideal go to combat Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s threat in the final third.

Hopefully, the England striker is fit in time for that game as he would be relishing the opportunity to play against a Silva-less Chelsea side.

Relegation is a realistic threat at Goodison Park and picking up three points against the biggest spenders in Europe will certainly be a huge bonus for them.
